Free initial 15 minute conversation on VAT Challenges

Kevin Hall, a leading Midlands VAT specialist at law firm Wright Hassall, is warning of increasing issues from businesses trying to address the impact on VAT after the UK left the European Union.

“At the moment I’m seeing a significant increase in enquiries.  Although exporting goods from the UK requires only a few additional steps, the greater challenge arises when the goods arrive in the EU.

Contract reviews should be undertaken and renegotiated where appropriate.  If the supplier has the import responsibilities, a review of user-friendly and convenient EU jurisdictions should be undertaken and local obligations should be identified and addressed.  These changes will affect simplifications such as distance selling and triangulation, and the EU’s new One Stop Shop rules should also be taken into account.”

Kevin points to the new Government Grant, of up to £2,000 for advice on VAT issues, as being a lifeline for a lot of businesses and he is also offering Chamber members a free initial 15 minute conversation to assess their needs and how they might manage their VAT challenges.

“The Government have realised how difficult the position is that many businesses find themselves in.  The grant is easy to apply for and I’d be delighted to talk people through their current situation to see how I might resolve their concerns.”
